Excessive ads even with a Deluxe subscription.
I purchased Norton Deluxe with Lifelock a little over a year ago. As far as it's protection, it is a great product. Though I do have a big issue with their service, this is their constant ads. I turned off my popups in windows so it stops notifying me but that is an annoyance on a paid product to be loaded with ads.
Now they want me to use my computer's idle time for money. Well if they just had 1 banner ad and then let me close out that, it woul Show More d be fine.
Nope, now when I open up Norton to look at it there is a giant banner on top causing me to scroll through to get the the services I need. Why not make this closeable? Again, I am paying for this, enough with the ads. Guess what? Again with ads Again, I should be able to close this, there is a service behind this and I cannot access it because this ad is blocking it. Literally blocking the product I have paid for.
They have seriously blocked me from using a paid product by a stack of 6 ads for other services I might want. I buy antivirus for the obvious protection. The carrycot is lovely and in fact when Aimee was smaller we used the carrycot as a moses basket when staying away overnight and she slept happily in it. She also finds the car seat very comfortable and often happily snoozes off in it on car journeys. We've been using the pushchair seat recently and she seems to like that too - the only thing I would say there is that when the baby is fairly small, as Aimee is, it's a bit fiddly to tighten the shoulder straps enough to have them snug so baby doesn't list to the side a bit!
When using the pushchair seat in forward-facing mode you can fold the whole thing down with the seat in place. Otherwise you need to take the seat off and fold the chassis down but the seats interchange very easily and have built in adaptors so you simply push in a lever on each side and lift the seat off the chassis. The chassis itself folds down really flat and, if you need it even more compact, the wheels come off very easily by lifting a lever on each side. The carrycot is the only bulky part but it does come collapsed flat so once baby has outgrown it you can always collapse it back flat again to store it.
It's very sturdy and steady, not too heavy and the handle is height adjustable too. I've bumped it up and down steps solo and also had people lift the front edge for me to help lift up or down steps. I've taken it on the Tube! It is everything I wanted in a travel system and it's excellent quality and just so well-designed and easy to use. In fact, I think Jen above bought hers after seeing me rave about mine!
I really can't think of any way in which it could be improved. A couple of points not covered in the suggestions above:. The chassis is very sleek and mostly in chrome, whereas a lot of other prams can look very bulky and "plasticky". Oooh, I'm considering a Norton Storm Hi Katie, I work for the manufacturer Klever Kids. Based on the adjustable handle I would say it will be comfortable for up to around 6'2"-6'3".
The pram we had bought for my eldest had not been, and an incident when a stranger informed me that my baby son was silently choking scared me half to death and I swore I would only have rear facing prams from then on. Such a good idea as at all times baby can see you and you them.
The reason I went with this pram instead of the iCandy Cherry , which is the other pram I was contemplating purchasing, is the guarantee, which is two years as opposed to the one year on the iCandy. It was also a little more competitively priced — which is always a consideration for most parents. I had been lucky enough to compare the prams side by side at the Earls Court Baby Show which is always a good place to go if you want to see all the leading pram and pushchair manufacturers together under one roof.
And you can usually pick up some good deals as well. But back to the pram! There were only two suggestions that I would pass on to the manufacturers. Would I recommend this pram? Yes I would. It was smart looking, comfortable and light.
Would I recommend getting a bicycle lock to secure it? Yes I most definitely would. I miss my Norton. Every time I see the rain cover, or the cosy toes, or use the pram bag around the house I think of it and curse the thief.
