At the moment, three series dominate the world of Dragon Ball games, those being Xenoverse , FighterZ , and as of this year, Kakarot. It seems there are a number of potential options for the next DBZ game, but the real question is which of these choices is most likely to happen, and which would fans like to see more. This was a title that took a very different approach to the standard Dragon Ball game formula, a change that fans appreciated at the time.
The Xenoverse saga continued to expand in when Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 released, but has since subsisted off add-on content. Two years later, Dragon Ball FighterZ came out, taking fans back to the traditional 2D fighting style of DBZ game but in a much more polished and stylistic way. Finally, marked Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot 's release, a truly story focused game. The obvious place to start when guessing at what comes next for Dragon Ball Z games is a sequel.
Of the three series currently running the show, Xenoverse is definitely next in line for a sequel. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is simply too new at this point and still hasn't even ran the course of its season pass. This adds a huge amount of gameplay. Besides this, players will also get to unlock Vegito and Gotenks who are two of the most popular fusion characters in the franchise.
