I think I found the fix. I went into the hairstyle changer and changed her hair accessory to the ponytail. Then I went back and changed her hairstyle to one without the pony tail. So far it worked. I just had the same problem with another character and he kept the fedora from a lower level journalism job. When he became a new anchor he still had the fedora. I went through the same steps as before and it worked fine.
